After your laser hair removal session at Epilia, it is essential to take proper care of your skin to reduce the risk of irritation.
Immediately after the laser session:
- Right after your session, you may notice some redness and mild swelling, but these usually fade quickly.
- Your laser technician will provide you with a moisturizing cream to apply immediately after the session. This step takes place in your private treatment room at Epilia.
- If the treated area still feels warm or itchy the day after your session, we recommend contacting our secretarial team by phone as soon as possible.
- Your laser technician will provide you with all the necessary information and answer any questions you may have about the next steps in your laser treatment.

Here are a few practical tips and precautions to follow:
- Hydrating the treated area is highly recommended for the 3 days following your session—morning and evening. Use a moisturizing cream, preferably neutral and fragrance-free. It’s important to continue moisturizing throughout the course of your treatment.
- Avoid using overly harsh exfoliating products.
- The hair follicle will be eliminated over the 3 weeks following your session. We suggest starting gentle exfoliation from the 5th day after your treatment.
- If you’ve treated your underarms, avoid applying deodorant for 24 hours post-session.
- Avoid any overheating of the skin (no hot baths or showers), and refrain from going to the pool (jacuzzi, sauna, hammam) for 48 hours after your session.
- Sun exposure is strictly prohibited (as well as the use of tanning beds, lotions, or self-tanning creams). This rule must be followed throughout your treatment period on the area being lasered.

Can I shave or wax between two laser sessions?
- Shaving is not recommended between sessions. As your treatment progresses, hair regrowth slows down naturally, and hair becomes finer and more sparse.
- All other hair removal methods that remove the hair root (waxing, tweezing, electric epilators, etc.) should also be avoided between sessions.
How should I prepare for my next laser session?
- It is recommended to shave or trim the hair shortly before your next appointment, so that it is short (no longer than 1 mm). No shaving is required for women’s facial areas or peach fuzz zones.
Your laser technician will let you know exactly how to prepare for your next session at Epilia.
