For years, we’ve been trying to get rid of unwanted hair. All methods have been used—laser hair removal, waxing, razors, depilatory creams… While 71% of French women still choose the razor as their go-to, no one enjoys the redness and ingrown hairs that can follow. Not to mention the constant upkeep!
This method finally guarantees long-lasting hair removal.
Say goodbye to the drawbacks of traditional hair removal techniques. No more hesitating to raise your arms or worrying about how your underarms look.
Discover underarm laser hair removal at our Epilia centers—premium-quality treatment at an affordable price.

What’s required for successful laser hair removal
Understanding your hair type
You already know—every person is unique. And so are our lasers.
At all Epilia centers, we use the best laser on the market: the Candela Alexandrite, global leader in aesthetic laser technology. Its 755 nm wavelength delivers optimal results on light to medium skin tones.
Rest assured—during your first consultation, the technician will ensure that the laser is suitable for your skin.
It’s not the color of your hair that matters, but rather the color of the hair under your arms. That’s why it’s important not to shave before your initial consultation.
For laser treatment to be effective, your hair needs to contain enough melanin (i.e., it must be pigmented). White, grey, very blond, or certain red hairs don’t contain enough melanin and won’t be affected by the laser.

Contraindications
Your underarms cannot be treated with laser if:
- They are tanned, even slightly
- You are pregnant
We recommend avoiding sun exposure on the treatment area throughout your laser program.
Of course, you can pause your treatment at any time without losing the results already achieved.
During your first consultation, we’ll let you know when to stop all traditional forms of hair removal.
Steps of an underarm laser hair removal session
The preliminary consultation
Free, mandatory, and with no obligation, this consultation takes place in each of our Epilia centers.
A technician will welcome you and explain everything you need to know about laser hair removal. It’s the perfect time to ask any questions you may have.
During this consultation, she will also assess whether the treatment is suitable for your skin type and hair.
You’ll receive a detailed breakdown of how the sessions work, along with a personalized quote.
Plus, you only pay after each session—no upfront payment required. You remain in full control of your budget throughout the treatment process.

The laser hair removal session
We take great care of you. Whichever Epilia center you visit, you’ll be welcomed into a comfortable treatment room.
You’ll simply lie down and raise your arm while the laser is applied. Don’t worry—it only takes a few minutes.
You might feel a slight tingling, similar to a small elastic snap, but the discomfort is minimal.
To make the experience even more comfortable, we use a Zimmer cooling system, which minimizes any discomfort. The cold air acts like a local anesthetic.

Post-treatment care
From your very first session, you’ll already notice visible results: smoother, softer skin.
If you experience slight redness, it will fade quickly on its own.
- Avoid applying deodorant for 24 hours.
- Moisturize morning and evening for three days after your session.
- Avoid swimming in pools or the sea, and stay away from very hot showers for 48 hours after the treatment.
Any mild tingling will disappear immediately after the session ends.

Between sessions, it’s important to follow a few guidelines:
- Avoid sun exposure and UV rays on the treated area
- Skip the razor
Is one session enough?
No! Laser hair removal is a long-term treatment.
Why is that?
Your hair grows in a specific cycle made up of three phases. The laser only destroys follicles when the hair is in its active growth stage, known as the anagen phase.
During the catagen phase, the hair is at rest, and the laser has no effect.
The telogen phase is the final stage, when the hair falls out naturally—but the follicle remains intact.
Therefore, multiple sessions are required to eliminate all hairs in the growth phase.
The duration of the treatment varies from person to person based on individual characteristics.
Laser hair removal for underarms remains the most effective and long-lasting solution. It can also be applied to any area of the body—from arms to bikini line, legs, and face.
