Thinking about heading to the beach?
But your bikini line isn’t quite ready. You don’t want to go through that again this summer (or in the summers to come), and you’re considering permanent laser hair removal for the bikini area.
However, this decision deserves some thought. What are the benefits? Which area should be treated? What’s the cost? Your Epilia center is here to guide you through bikini laser hair removal.
The benefits of bikini laser hair removal
Still unsure about booking a permanent hair removal session for your bikini area? Laser hair removal offers much more than just a cosmetic treatment. To help with your decision, here are some of the main benefits:

A confidence boost
hat’s right—laser hair removal for the bikini area can boost your self-confidence. In fact, according to an Ipsos study, 81% of women feel lighter and find their skin smoother after a hair removal session. Additionally, 65% report increased self-esteem.
No more worrying about body hair before hitting the beach, the pool, or even being intimate with your partner. Sounds like peace of mind, doesn’t it?
Not to mention, laser hair removal is ideal for eliminating bumps, irritation, and ingrown hairs, which are especially common in this sensitive area.
Save money
Surprised? Think about your yearly budget for waxing, razors, or salon appointments. Over a lifetime, it’s estimated to range between 4,000 and 37,500 CHF (source: Ipsos).
So even though the price of laser sessions may seem high, they are ultimately more cost-effective than other hair removal methods.
As soon as you begin treatment at Epilia, your laser technician will provide all the necessary information about the laser and a detailed quote. No hidden costs—you’ll know exactly what each session will cost. Our prices are calculated fairly to make permanent hair removal accessible to all.
Would you like to combine bikini hair removal with other areas? We offer special packages and pricing.

Save time
Do you know how much time women spend on hair removal? Between 1h08 and 2h28 per month, according to the Ipsos study. That time could surely be better spent!
A bikini laser hair removal session takes about 25 minutes. Appointments are spaced out every 6 weeks at the start (and more as the treatment progresses). In the long run, you’ll save precious time.
Plus, by the end of your laser hair removal treatment, most of your hair will be gone (only a light fuzz may remain). That’s freedom regained!
Which bikini areas can be treated with laser?
For women
Since every woman is different, Epilia centers offer custom laser hair removal based on your preferences and needs.

The classic bikini line
If you’re looking for a clean finish for the beach without going too far, opt for the classic bikini hair removal.
You’ll keep your underwear on during the treatment. So even if you’re modest, you can still enjoy the benefits of laser hair removal.
Hair on a strip about 2 cm wide on each side of your underwear will be treated. In this case, the laser will not target the hair on the pubic mound.
Laser hair removal for a high-cut bikini line
Is the classic bikini line not enough? Want to remove more hair without worrying about your underwear?
During your initial consultation, your laser technician will ask you to specify exactly which area you’d like to treat. You choose the area you want to keep, and your technician will carefully avoid that section. For this, you’ll need to undress so the area is clearly visible.
Please note that this option does not include hair on the labia

Full bikini laser hair removal
Prefer a full or semi-full bikini hair removal including the labia? That’s absolutely possible—you can treat the entire area or leave a small patch of hair on the pubic mound. Hair on the labia will be fully treated. Please note that in this area, where hair is finer and the skin is often darker, a light fuzz may remain after laser treatment.
Keep in mind that the intergluteal cleft (IGC) is treated separately from the bikini area. If you’d like to include this area, just mention it during your consultation.
For men
Laser hair removal of the genital area
At Epilia, we offer two options for laser hair removal of the male bikini area. The first includes treatment of the hair on the testicles and the base of the penis.
Why only these two intimate areas? Because that’s where the highest concentration of hair is typically found in men.
If you also wish to treat the IGC (intergluteal cleft), we can include it during your consultation as part of one of our packages.

Full bikini hair removal
Prefer full over partial hair removal?
We also offer the full bikini package, including the testicles, base of the penis, and pubic area. Smooth skin for greater comfort—and your partner will thank you.
Note: results in men differ from those in women. Due to testosterone, new hair may appear over time. However, we guarantee a visible improvement in hair quality and a significant reduction in overall hair growth, greatly enhancing comfort.
Your bikini laser hair removal session
During your first appointment, we’ll take time to assess your needs and answer all your questions. No treatment will be performed during this consultation.
You’ll learn about the laser hair removal technique and the equipment used: the Candela Alexandrite laser (recognized as one of the best for aesthetic hair removal).
The laser is combined with the Zimmer cooling system, which makes the session more comfortable by reducing the tingling sensations.

Contraindications
As with any body area, the bikini zone must be free of objects. Be sure to remove any piercings.
Also note that tattoos in the treatment area will be protected and bypassed.
Tanned skin cannot be treated with laser. Tanned skin presents a high risk of burns. So it’s best to start your hair removal treatment when your skin is no longer tanned.
What to know before starting permanent laser hair removal
Here are some tips to follow before your laser sessions:
- Sun exposure, UV lamps, and self-tanning lotions are prohibited on the areas to be treated.
- Avoid wearing new, unwashed underwear.
- Anesthetic creams like Emla are not recommended. Your sensations during the session are essential to adjust the laser to the optimal intensity and minimize the risk of burns. Using any numbing cream can affect this perception.
- It is recommended to shave or trim the area shortly before the session, leaving the hair as short as possible (maximum 1 mm). This instruction will be given during your initial consultation.

How many sessions are needed for bikini laser hair removal?
Here are some precautions to take after each session:
- Avoid exposing the treated area to the sun.
- Follow the shaving instructions provided by your laser specialist.
- Moisturize and exfoliate your skin.
You may experience a slight warmth after each session. Don’t worry, this is completely normal. However, if the sensation persists for several days, feel free to contact us.

During your first consultation, your laser specialist will provide a quote based on the area(s) you wish to treat. No need to worry—at Epilia, you pay per session. This allows you to spread your payments over time. At Epilia, there are no hidden costs or subscription traps.
You’ll see results from the very first session. The number of sessions required varies depending on several factors, including your physiology and personal goals. That’s why it’s impossible to determine in advance exactly how many sessions will be needed to achieve your desired results.
