Why is this initial consultation so important?
During this visit, your laser specialist will explain in detail how the treatment works.
This consultation is essential, as it provides you with all the information you need about laser hair removal. Your assistant will also use this opportunity to check whether all the conditions are met for the laser to be effective on your skin and hair.
Will a laser treatment be performed during the initial consultation?
It is important to note that no treatment will be carried out during this first consultation. Therefore, it is best not to shave your hair before the appointment, so that the assistant can assess its color and thickness.
She will guide you on the steps to follow for your first session, should you decide to begin a laser treatment.

When is the best time to book an appointment?
Appointments can be scheduled throughout the year at any of our Epilia centers.
Are you someone who likes to plan ahead and want to start your laser treatment without delay?
Summer can be a great time to schedule your first appointment at Epilia.
Have you been exposed to the sun this summer or had artificial tanning sessions?
It’s important to know that before starting your laser hair removal treatment, your tan must have completely faded from the area to be treated.
Why is this the ideal time to book an appointment?
Because there is a real risk of burns.
You can still come in during the summer for an informative first consultation.
This will give you the opportunity to ask all your questions about laser hair removal, and you’ll be ready to start your treatment as soon as your skin has returned to its natural tone.
Autumn is a period when our schedules fill up quickly, so you’ll avoid long waits between your first consultation and your first laser session by booking early.

- You’ll begin by selecting an Epilia center. Our centers are located across Switzerland: in Geneva and Lausanne.
- At Epilia, your file is centralized, so you’re free to choose any center in Switzerland for your appointment.

Good to Know:
- This initial consultation lasts approximately 30 minutes. No treatment is performed during this consultation with your laser specialist, so there is no need to shave beforehand.
- Your laser specialist will explain the next steps of your treatment.
- The ideal time to start a treatment at Epilia is in autumn, when your skin is no longer tanned.

- You will receive a confirmation email and a reminder a few days before your appointment. If needed, don’t forget to check your spam folder.
- You will pay for your session at the end of the appointment. No unpleasant surprises: at Epilia, no advance payment is required.
Important Guidelines
- No sun exposure (UV, tanning lotions, or self-tanners) during the entire treatment period.
- It is recommended to shave or trim the hair shortly before the session so that it is short (maximum 1 mm), except for women’s facial areas and fine hair, which should not be shaved.

At what age can I start laser hair removal?
Permanent laser hair removal can be performed on minors from the age of 15, provided there is parental consent and a consent form signed by one of the parents. That parent must also be present at the free initial consultation.
However, we recommend waiting for hormonal stabilization before beginning laser treatment.
Otherwise, the treatment will serve more as a comfort solution rather than a permanent one.
I’d like to reschedule my appointment – how do I proceed?
Appointments can be rescheduled, provided you inform us at least 48 hours in advance. You can cancel your appointment either by contacting our reception by phone or via the confirmation email you received.
You will then receive an email confirming the cancellation of your appointment.
You may then schedule a new appointment.
Good to know:
If you have several appointments scheduled, you will need to cancel all the relevant time slots.
I’m late or missed my appointment – what should I do?
To maintain our commitment to punctuality, we kindly ask that you arrive at least 5 minutes before your scheduled time. A delay may result in the cancellation of your session.
If you need to cancel last minute, please notify us by phone via our reception team.
Any cancellation made less than 48 hours in advance or in case of a no-show will result in a 20% charge of the session price, out of respect for other patients waiting for appointments.

Can I only come in the evening or on Saturdays – is that possible?
Our team does everything possible to offer you extended time slots to best accommodate your schedule. That’s why we provide late opening hours and are also available on Saturdays.
Can I bring my child with me?
Unfortunately not, due to the risks associated with laser treatment. Please note that anyone present in an Epilia treatment room must wear special protective glasses adapted to the type of laser we use.
These glasses are not designed for children and must not be removed under any circumstances.
Therefore, we kindly ask that you understand children are not allowed in the treatment room, unless they are able to remain alone and independently in the waiting area for the entire duration of your session.
If needed, please make sure to arrange for childcare prior to your appointment.

Can I attend my laser session at Epilia after getting vaccinated?
Laser treatment is perfectly compatible with Covid-19 vaccination. There is no known interaction between the two.
However, we kindly ask that you cancel your appointment in advance if you feel unwell or suspect you may not be in good condition to attend your session following your vaccination. This helps us avoid last-minute cancellations.
